On this page I will document any changes to my website.
This to a) not forget about any costume I'm making and b) to give you a possibility of keeping track on site changes

The costumes changed lately are at the top of the table. This page was last changed on 14-Apr-2007 (Note that this date changes automatically to the actual date each time I edit this page, so I can never forget to write the date of the last update down ).

Links to pages that were changed some time ago (and therefore would go down in that list) are at some point of time deleted from this list when I think it becomes too long. They can, however, of course still be found over the navigation on the left.

I am happy to announce that my weight has by now stopped dropping (see my notes concerning that subject below). Instead I have gained some weight again and raised it from merely 50 kilograms back to 58, which is acceptable for me.
The reason for the weight loss was an illness which was not so easy to discover for the doctors, but with proper medication I can now live with it without having to fear that at some point of time I will simply vanish into nothing because I wouldn't weight anything any more *lol* - plus, I now have the ideal diet: I could simply leave away some of my medication if my weight should raise more...
Thanks to everyone who encouraged me during the time of my sickness, I really appreciated it!

Due to popular request, I've started an almost insane project:
Translating my site to German.
I never really wanted to do this, as my site is already that large that I will have to translate almost 200 pages.
Nevertheless, I will try and do so - but this will take time.
I started by copying each and every folder of this web, put them into a new folder (which, for practical reasons, is called "German") and deleted all image files from them so that only the html pages remained.
Then I re-build the navigation structure for that German web and started translating.
It will take a *lot* of time, though, until I have actually finished the task of completely translating the entire web - as soon as I have managed this, I'll announce it here.
Until then you'll have to live with some pages that have a link to a 'German Version' on top, and others that don't have this - and the German pages, while basically already being linked to each other, are not all translated nor does the aforementioned navigation work properly on all of them.
Thanks for reading and the patience...

A short notice why I am currently barely updating the pages of the costumes I'm making for myself:
Over the last six months I have lost a lot of weight (more than 25 kilograms - from 85 to currently 59 kilograms) because I've been and still am quite sick. I have extreme problems in guessing what my weight will be at the end of my sickness. This results in the fact that I can't even estimate what my measures will be when I'm healthy again.
So currently I am just making doll costumes, some costumes for others and am working on my Victorian Day dress (which - in the two months I have until now needed to make it - I changed so far three times (e. g. changed waistbands, had to pleat skirts into them etc.) to make it fit my ever down going weight; but I need it for an event by the end of March!); however, all other costumes I have planned or have already been working on for myself will have to wait until I'm completely healthy again.
The only costumes I can currently half way plan and / or make are "The Visitation", the "Arnolfini" gown and "Queen Maeve", as they are just fitting because they have a lot of lacings and / or a belt, but I'm still lacking most of the materials for all of them.
This is just a short notice to let the people who visit this site frequently know that I am (gladly!) not going through a non-creative time - I just can't make too much for myself as I know that those garments wouldn't fit any more a fortnight later...
Just to clarify in numbers what such a weight loss means:
My natural waist - without a corset - changed since August 2005 until now, February 2006, from 85cm / 33 1/2 inch to 71cm / 28 inch; my bust changed from 104cm / 41 in. to 94cm / 37 inch.
As my weight is still going down there is no way how I could make snugly fitting clothes for myself.
Three months ago, when my weight was at about 70 kilograms, I wore my Pelican gown for a sewing meeting. I could *then* already overlap the fronts of the bodice by 4 inches / 10cm (note that the bust is slightly compressed when wearing stays; my natural, uncompressed bust must have been at about 100cm/40 in. back then).
And now I have even more than 10 kilograms less weight than then; I guess you know what that means for the Pelican gown: It now looks on me as if I would wear a flour sack... nothing fits any more, even the stays are too large (even if they are completely laced closed on the backside, there's still enough space now to put my entire arm between the stays and my body)!
So... please be patient. I will update my costume pages again... it's just a matter of time.

Contact: Please write to naergilien@yahoo.de with the word "Costume" in the subject line. My mail server will delete all mails automatically that don't have this word in the subject line; except if you are on my whitelist (which you are probably not if I have never written to you).
It may take me some days to answer - please be patient. If I shouldn't answer within a week, it's almost safe to say that I didn't receive your mail (for what reason ever) - in that case please resend it.

All images of my costumes and also the tutorial pictures as well as the descriptions of my work and various techniques on this site are copyrighted to me.
So don't take my pictures for publishing (e.g. other websites, books etc.; no matter if they are commercial or not) without asking me before you do so and especially not without getting my permission to do this.
My server is mostly set up in a way that it doesn't allow hot linking on images; so if you need to link to me, please link to one of my sites (hint: that's everything ending with ".htm" or "html" in your browser's address bar) on which you found the picture that you would like to link to.

All images of paintings or original movie costumes were not taken by me (except if stated so) and are on this site for educational purposes.
As far as I could, I have credited the original photographers and/or their sites or have mentioned from where I have scanned certain pictures. They remain property of their respective owners.
