I have also decided to attach the overskirt to the bodice, with a *not* at all historical (at least, from my knowledge, for that period…) waistband to be able to keep the cartridge pleating intact.

Therefore, the trim from the sides of the overskirt will go right on to the bodice.

Here’s the first picture of the almost finished skirt over my blue and white farthingale.
I’ve already cartridge pleated it; though the waistband and the actual bodice will have to wait until I have worn my Elizabethan corset for some weeks to make absolutely sure that it fits.
I have already attached the trim to the front sides – the parts hanging over the torso of the sewing model will be those that will be attached to the bodice once it’s attached to the skirt.
Below the skirt, there’s my blue and white Elizabethan farthingale and a bumroll – though I think that the farthingale might be a tad too big; I might try and make another one from Alciega’s pattern, which is slightly smaller – but at a later point of time.
